Project Overview

Visual Empire delivers large-scale Christmas installations across multiple Westfield shopping centres, transforming retail environments into festive destinations during the holiday season. Designed and fabricated by Chas Clarkson, the decorations are then handed to VE for for installation and dismantle throughout the decoration lifetime.

Visual Empire has been one of the largest installers of Christmas for the past 30 years. In 2020 and was award the contract to deliver the full Christmas installation and dismantle program across Westfield centres throughout NSW and the ACT — a large-scale logistical operation executed within a tightly managed one-month window ahead of Santa’s arrival.

The program required detailed scheduling, safety and compliance reviews and documentation and overnight installation crews. Decorative elements ranged from ceiling and wall-mounted installations to complex void displays, along with wreaths, Santa sets, standard trees and towering giant feature trees that anchor each centre’s festive environment.

Each installation was carefully sequenced to minimise disruption to trade, with dedicated teams managing rigging, electrical integration, set contrustion and final styling across every location.

Once the season concludes, the dismantle phase is executed with the same precision ensuring safe removal, asset auditing, careful packing and storage so decorations are protected and ready for the following year while maintaining the operational flow of busy retail environments.
